Default Bogging under load

Yesterday my car started bogging only when under load from about 4500rpm upward. While sitting at the traffic light I also noticed that the car had a small vibration ever 2-4 seconds that actually caused the car to lightly shutter a little and created a pop from the exhaust. That is actually not overly uncommon for my car (it seems to have that little pop a lot, but I attribute it to the TP), but the vibration was actually feeling more like being stopped on a windy bridge with the whole car doing a minor sway.

Idle went down to about 300rpm and was settling there when stopped at a light, but this popping and vibration continued. The temperature has been really strange here the past 2 days and I'm wondering if this could be the cause.

I did not get any CELs, however the exhaust did smell very rich from the driver's seat, even more so than I'm used to with the test pipe.

Bogging always concerns me because the sound from the exhaust is like a person drowning, very low in tone and very fast like a drum beat until I clutch in and get the RPMs back down.

Mods:

AEM V2
Aftermarket Header (I refuse to say the name...okay fine. DC Sports)
Berk Test Pipe
Comptech Exhaust
HTG 4.77 Gears

Does anybody have any thoughts?

Have you looked at the plugs recently? If not, might not be a bad time

I actually haven't looked at them too recently, last time would've been down in Ohio back in April. Replaced a coilpack then because it was just slightly bulged due to a slight leak from a leaky rings on the valve cover. Now I've got a spare that still functions fine and can be used for diagnosis if needed.

I'll check the plugs tonight as a start.

I've had the gurgling exhaust sound, but I can't remember if it was when I had MAP sensor issues or when I adjusted my valves out of spec.

Since I doubt your problem is valve adjustment-related, I'd recommend trying to unplug the MAP sensor and plug it back in securely.

I will do that as well.

Had the valves adjusted in April as well by the guys at Ganley Honda and I trust em to have done it right so I'd vote no on the valves as well.

Seems to be running okay today, kinda sluggish though. Maybe I'll take it out on the highway tonight and give it a few good runs through the gears and see if it's just in my head that it's slower.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I just bought an AP1 today, it seems to have this problem pretty bad. It was worse when it was hotter out (felt like 110) but its still there now, its like 90 degrees. It feels like A. the vtec is engaging and disengaging repeatedly, or the timing is off. I am taking it back to the dealership tomorrow, its under warranty so I am not too worried, but it sucks! BTW oil is dead on full. Yes I did test drive it, and it felt OK, not great, but It was pulling ok after 7k. During the day it was doing this as soon as vtec engaged, no its doing it after 7k. Feels absolutely fine under 5.5k. I really didn't rev it today

Here is my ideas:

1. The heat
2. Dealership used 87, and its tripping the knock sensor?
3. The plugs
4. Clogged Map sensor
5. ECU needs to be reset

The MAP sensor doesn't actually get clogged. The problem is that the connectors between the sensor and the wiring harness become loose.

Recently, I had a problem where the car "stuttered" a few times in VTEC (primarily in 1st gear). I disconnected the MAP sensor plug, made sure it was clean, and re-connected it securely. You could try the same, and see if it helps.
