Boiling coolant coming out of reservoir tank
Driving on what was probably the hottest day this year. MY06 only thing noticeably wrong was AC not blowing cold. Anyways, came to a stop and noticed smoke/steam coming out of the hood. Boiling coolant was coming out of the reservoir tank. Turned engine off right away. After about 45 minutes I decided to limp her home but kept an eye on the temp. Luckily it was about 5 mins away. Temp gauge crept up about halfway (AP2). Had a friend follow and he did not see any smoke. Next day I checked oil cap and dipstick. Looked normal. Also radiator still has fresh coolant. Recently changed oem rad to a koyo, new T-stat, new upper/lower hose, koyo cap, etc. Although, car ran fine a couple months ago in the spring. Bleeding procedure seemed ok too since air was blowing hot. Haven't had the time to fully inspect yet but was wondering if anyone had a similar situation? Also, how many bars on the temp gauge for an AP2 does it take to warp the head?

I would check for leaks, and then retry your bleed procedure first. When you bled it before was the air out of the vents hot enough that it got uncomfortable to hold your hand in front of the vent? It should almost make you want to move your hand away if it is bled properly. It can feel warm, and yet still not be bled fully.

Thanks, will do that. I'd say it was pretty hot but enough where I would be able to withstand the heat. But yes it's possible I did not bleed it properly. I didn't quite follow the procedure posted on here. Will look into that also

Make sure the cap is good. I had boiling coolant in the reservoir before and turned out to be a bad cap.

Do a leakdown test with the radiator cap open
Obviously when the car is fully cool.
See if the coolant level rises when you pressurize the cylinders.

With the car warm it doesn't have to be hot, squeeze the radiator hose to see if its got pressure in the system. I had a bad cap on my S and that is the same symptoms my '06 had.
