bolt broke off (tein bonnet damper) how to remove
the bolt that goes into fender snapped and now the bolt is in the fender..
so at first i tried backing out w/ finger/small tools.. moved but no luck.
so i buy a reverse out bit.. drill a 7/64ths hole into the bolt (the drill itself made it go down a lil more..:-(
so i go to use the reverse out bit and it "locks" as it should but the drill doesnt have enuff torque to reverse it out.(med duty plug in drill). then the bit starts spinning in the drill (couldnt lock tight enuff to remove)
so its been 2 weeks now.. and bolts starting to rust from me drilling+rain..
what to do? anyone used another bit.. mine just looks like a screw but the threads go opp. direction so "reversing" tightens the bit into the bolt.
thank you.

I've fixed this same problem by drilling 3/8 hole and using a 6x1.0mm rivnut threaded nut insert.
Unfortunately the rivnut setting tool isn't cheap.

If you found a way to keep going INTO the fender.. doesn't it just drop into the guard? Correct me if im wrong but where you bolt that in goes stright through...

id rather not have hood damper than remove fender..
i guess my best bet is use the bit i have just get a impact drill motor .. and the impacting will jar it loose.

removing the fender is a simple 5 minute process. Impact hammer sounds like it can do some damage. Also if you jar it loose inside the fender you might have a bolt rattling around in there. Once it is inside there is nowhere for it to go unless you take the fender off to remove it.

i already sunk the bolt area down a lil by pushing down w/ the drill motor.. worst case i just keep the "uni" damper.. which holds it up.. or just drill the whole sucker out.
makes me mad. i only used a lil bit of pressure.. i guess im stronger than i think..
