Anybody have a Injen installation manual? I bought a used Injen intake and I am not sure how it goes in. It looks like I have to cut some plastic at the passenger front side just behind the bumper... and I am not certain where the intake head end is supposed to eventually be.
Thanks,
CB
Edited by XV so the pictures are one below the other (no scrolling to the right necessary).
I took out the cooling fan and shroud. Two bolts and an electrical connector. Easy out.
If anyone can show a pic of what the cutout should look like...that would be great. Plus, I am a bit curious as to where the filter sits. There doesn't seem to be enough room for the filter in the cavity behind the fender.
Pictures? Manuals?
And one more thing... Can you notice better acceleration once the intake is installed?
Is it me or is the intake hooked up to the wrong place??? I have AEM v2 and its not hooked up there.. its hooked up at the stock intake place. Or is that one not connected at all and just sitting there??
His pic doesn't have the intake hooked up to anything. I just installed a AEM V2 yesterday, It's pretty similar to the injen or AEM V1. Remove the fender liner's bolts and the clips that hold the undertray on. Install the intake, then trim the undertray around the tube. The filter sits behind the fender liner.
Yep.
One pic is just the Injen intake laying there... My intention was to first see if this was the right intake - because I did buy it used, and on good faith that it would fit.
The second pic is the area that looks like I have to carve.
Your help is essential here because I don't want to carve the plastic until I'm confident.
BTW, should I open up the false inlet of the front bumper to let in ram air? I thinks that I should.
Thanks,
CB
Unfortunately, this was one install that I didn't do a complete "How To" on. However, here are a couple of pics I took where the piping goes through the side. You'll also have to punch of hole in the plastic in front of the tire to get the pipe into the area behind the fake air duct.
I would suggest you don't cut out the fake air duct. You'll get too much debris and moisture going in there. The filter will already get filthy as it is. You don't want to accelerate the problem. The filter will get plenty of air without cutting anymore holes. I actually cut out the wall that divides the filter space and the front grill opening just in front of the radiator. Even with this, the filter got filthy. If you drive through the wet a lot, plan on cleaning the filter a couple times a year.
