Default Brake Pads

I'm bound to be redirected by someone on these questions but I have a few questions:

-any experiences with Axxis brake pads. They're pretty cheap but more expensive than OEM. I'm wondering if with pretty cheap comes pretty bad??

-is it alright to run OEM rear brake pads with nonOEM fronts?

-is it alright to run brand x fronts and brand y backs..neither one being OEM?

*by alright..i know the car won't explode I'm just saying for a track day and beyond will the effectiveness of the braking be good?

thanks
Ryan

For the Street there is nothing better then the OEM Pads IMO. The OEM pads are just not up to heavy repeated use (like on a race track)

How would this work....get brand new OEM pads for a track day and plan on wearing them out that day..or would they wear out before the day was even over?

I'm looking for any reason possible to stay OEM brake pads for Fall Colors because they're so damn cheap!!!

Some people have gone through a OEM set of pads in one track day. You likely want to have a either a extra set (to possibly change at the event) or put a set of race pads on bed them in properly and drive up and back on them (squealing and grinding all the way)

Then swap back to OEMs, and save the race pads for another track day, as you will surely want to go back.

Changing pads at the track is not hard to do, but I don't like doing it if I can help it.

Beaver is not terribly hard on brake as I recall.

The OEM compound is not suitable for track use.. it will overheat and your braking will be reduced. Get a track pad and use the OEM's for the street. Many of us do use track pads and tires for the ride to the track and change back when we get home.

my R4s dust like crazy but hardly squeal. sutable for daily driving IMO.

on my "personal" racetrack (8 mile long downhill complete with off camber decreasing radius turns) i have yet to overheat them in my 3600 lb VR4.

my maxima has R4S and after buying these i will NEVER buy OEM pads again. the first thing i said about the S2k when i drove it was the brakes were horrible. these pads also do very well with the 3300 lb maxima on the same road.

on a positive note the second thing i said was that the shifter was the most beautiful thing i had ever used.
