Brake pads

Unhappy Brake pads

My brakes are squeaking but how do i know if they are the front or rear brakes? I want to change them this weekend, should i just change both front & rear? Thanks guys.

Look at the pad thickness. If both are marginal...change both! If not, it should be clear which ones are worn out.

If the noise is in front of you, it's the front brakes. If the noise is behind you it's the rear brakes. If the noise is all around you it's both.

hmmmmm well i guess i am not good at judging where noise comes from . ill see wich one is worn more. I didnt know if the fronts grabbed first or the rear grabbed first or if the both grab at the same time? Well ill just do what bassem said, thanks guys

Have someone walk beside the car at 2mph. This is very effective at pinpointing noises.
