Default Brake rotor help

Well i am tired of my stock rotors they rust way to easy if i wash my car they get all brown and nasty the same if it rains. But the guy down the street has an 03 vette which he drives in the snow with all the salt and sand and his rotors don't rust they remain a nice shiny silver. which i am guessing because he has rotors made out of a different material. any suggestions on replacement rotors?

talk to docofmind. here's my rears. it's all stock stuff ... powdercoated calipers and slotted, drilled, cadmium plated (to prevent rusting) rotors.

Those rotors will still rust after the cadmium plating is worn off the swept surfaces. Rick Hesel was developing a stainless wave rotor that should be great for street use. But when it goes into production, you'd need to change your front calipers to make them work there. I haven't seen them being sold yet.

As I recall, Rick has been testing them out, and his car has recently been out of commission.

it's not the swept surface i'm worried about. any rust that is unfortunate enough to start there is removed once you hit your brakes. it's the areas not hit by the brake pads that concerns me, and those are good to go.

I agree, I don't care about rust spots on the swept surface of the rotor, but I'd like a plated or coated rotor that doesn't drip orange rust all over the inside of my wheels.

That is what I hate most because I have a nice set of Volk's and don't want the wheels to get all crudded up.
