I finished the production brake kit 3 days before Asheville . Drove car to Asheville , used brakes a little harder than most people would use on street . So far results of 1,300 miles of preliminary testing.

1 No fade at all ( Racing pads dust like crazy)
2 Racing pads squeal at times ( not all the time , but normally when cold)
3 Racing calipers let pads some times rattle at low speeds .
4 Petal height is the same as stock ( This with a increase of 36% in piston capacity!!)
5 No wear on rotors ( racing pads very rotor friendly , good to 1,200 degrees)
6 Brakes stop as good cold as stock brakes and pads.
7 My wife Nancy drove car to store when we returned to Ashtabula called me on my car phone to let me know that the brakes worked FANTASTIC !!!! I almost dropped the phone. ( I have been the brunt of jokes at all dinner parties and get-togethers, since last July when I started this project . I have been told, what makes me think I can make a better set of brakes and why would you want them.) This is the highest honor a husband could receive on this project.
8 I have purchased infrared thermometer that reads to 1,400 degrees . I will be testing the brakes with rotor paints and thermometer . I will test both stock brake system and Big Brake kit . Will be testing more types of pads so that cars that just use kit on the street will not have to put up with all the dust . Also should reduce squeal .
9 Modulation of brakes is greatly improved . Should be able to reduce stopping distance as long as tires can handle improved brakes .
10 No problem with brake fade after repeated stops . I have done 80 to 10 miles per hour 6 times in a row as fast as possible no fade just lots of dust .

Will start on rear rotors soon . I am waiting for custom bolts to complete front kit.

I have to admit, that is a quality setup. The lines, rotors, and calipers are all the highest quality I have seen on an S2000.

Wow! Wish I could afford these.

What are you planning for the rear? Will you be able to fit a ventilated rotor?

We are working on pads to fit stock brakes . Drop me PM where to ship I will send you set soon as they are made.

Rear brake will not be ventilated , they will be STEEL and will have convoluted outer circumference to reduce weight . This rotor is being used on racing Vipers . Vipers have a lot more mass to stop than our cars .
I will post Group Buy on brake kit as soon as all agreements with sales group is worked out.

Calipers are forged aluminum racing calipers 1.75" four piston . Rotors are cast iron racing rotors directional vane with forged aluminum hats . Rotor size 12.19 dia. Kit reduces weight per wheel 8 to 10 lbs depending on rotor . Because of forged calipers and reduced flexing in brakes I have same petal height as stock with 36% larger piston area.

That is an amazing project. If it works as well as it looks, you've got a winner.

If you add the 10lb reduction per wheel, to the savings you can get with lightweight forged wheels, you get impressive results. That should definitely help with handling and braking distances on uneven surfaces.

I've been hearing a fair bit about The Brake Man calipers. I'd like to know your impressions of them, their streetability (dust seals, etc.) and why you chose them over something like Brembo's, AP Racing, Project Mu, Endless, etc.

When I started my project I was looking for a completed brake kit . Went to every company that you mentioned. It seemed like every one was taking brakes off some other car and fitting them to another . Total disregard for weight or performance . Most companies that you mention have many grades of calipers . Most for street use are cast aluminum to reduce cost ( These caliper flex a lot , that is why these kits require larger master cylinders or give a low petal ). You get the name but you don't get the same caliper that they use on the race cars . Space was the first concern , I wanted the kit to fit in the stock wheels and did not want to add spacers . While checking information on internet I came across Advanced Cooling Rotors , very high tech. Brake Man is exclusive supplier for these rotors so I made call to them . I met a man , Warren Gilliland ( Brake Man ) he has 31 years experience in racing brakes . Working with Warren's expertise and 5 other companies we designed , built and are now testing this kit. Every company was chosen for their expertise in the field that we required to produce kit. The Brake Man caliper is very light , and super strong, as strong or stronger than mono-bloc calipers .The reduced flex in the caliper allows the use of larger pistons with out changing master cylinder. Most brake kits add weight this does not help handling or stopping . The way most of us use our cars the use of dust shields on the pistons is not problem . Lots of mud or salt might cause some long term problems . These calipers are used on Off-road racing trucks with excellent results . The F-3 caliper that is in the kit was just designed by Warren prior to my contacting him . I have one of the first production caliper sold. This caliper was designed for cars that needed smaller size and reduced weight. (S-2000 fit right in) . One of the rules that I learned about braking systems is use the smallest caliper that will hold a brake pad that will let you finish race with out changing pads . ( lighter is better) .
I have found petal modulation to be way better than stock and I am using racing pads on the street . Warren is going to make up some brake pads to fit stock brake system so that people that don't want to change calipers can sill improve their brakes . He will make hot street , racing , and long distance racing .All of his pads are very rotor friendly this will save cost of replacing rotors . The pad I am using on car now can also be used with aluminum rotors , so you know it is rotor friendly . Also the two piece rotor system is not a racing copy , this is the real thing . ( forged aluminum , with safety wired mounting bolts with stainless steel bushings to allow rotor to grow as it heats up ) This hat is not made of 7075 aluminum, the strength of 7075 goes down as hat heats up. At 75F 7075 has tensile strength of 83ksi at 400F it drops to 16ksi . This kit uses 7075-T6 for adapter bracket only because that part does not get hot. Also caliper is nickel plated making maintenance very easy .

Will be looking for people to test pads for stock system and soon we may need car on west coast to be use in magazine article for a brake swap review.

This has been a long process but being able to be part of a neat project really makes it all worth the time and effort .
