Default Broke the break-in period rules...

Well, I had about 400 miles on the car and, a good friend of mine wanted to go up to Dallas for the weekend (a 100 mile drive each way). I was pretty excited about finally getting away for a weekend, I forgot about the remaining time for my breakin period. I took the car out on a fairly long trip, put about 250 more miles on it and got close to redlining it a few times. I wasnt even thinking about the fact I had a little bit more time on the break-in period.

So my question is is there a chance that this could have an adverse affect on my future driving? I have as yet noticed no problems - no noises or anything out of the norm.. but I just wanted to get some opinions on this blunder I made..

It's broke in now.

I did a similar break in. Long trip varied rpm, speed and at 600 miles let her go.

I have 23K on her now. MY03

I switched to synthetic at 1000 miles. I believe in a hard break-in and a fast change over to synthetic.

Those guys don't know what they are talking about. Your car will fall apart in less than two months unless you you send it to me right now. I'll take care of it for the next six months, and carefully re-break it in. Don't be alarmed if it comes back with 15,000 miles on it -- that's all part of the service.

I'm sure the F20C has been test run to red line from the factory.

Heh thanks guys.. yea I pretty much figured that a 4 cyl engine that pumps out 240 HP is probably going to be pretty hardy... But you never know. When you are in a lease, you get scared about these sorts of things hehe.

I sent mike my S2000 when I first got it back in December of '99. He returned it with 3kmi less than the 15kmi he quoted me, and only charged me for fuel. My S2000 hasn't had a single engine-related problem since!

Not to mention the people driving the balls out of it loading it to the trucks after assembly, unloading it from the truck and onto the boat, unloading it out of the boat and onto another truck, unloading it and peeling out into the honda stocking station point, loading it to another truck, unloading it and getting it into the dealer lot, the final "check" by PDI and service before they let you have it. The 10 miles of proper break-in fun.
