broken glass rear window

Default broken glass rear window

ok so my lil brother broke my back window not a big deal so i thought went out to local auto dismantlers and got a new window my only problem is no one in so cal (inland empire) will touch it, they said nope cant do it, 10 different shops all they offer me is a new convertable top with new glass 4 1500 or with plastic 4 1450 lol,has anyone had this problem before or have any ideas how to replace it?

Believe it or not, the rear window on an oem top unzips. But you still have to removed the rear tray and plastic that holds the whole top in place. And the zipper is a BITCH...it may even be sealed with a wax or something given how difficult it is to move.

even though the plastic window sucks at least it's replaceable. i have to replace my whole top. i usually go top down anyways but the patch blocking the hole of what used to be a window on my car is annoying. i've just been procrastinating the hell out of doing the top. i do not look forward to ripping all the crap out of the interior to remove/install the new top.

i dont Believe its oem because my car is a 2001 and from what i hear the 2002 and up came with the glass rear window but might be wrong

Could have been OEM glass top (03+) installed recently on your 01

If it isn't OEM, then you really don't have much choice but to replace the top. Might be time to call insurance.

So they are trying to sell you a top for 1500 dollars with the glass rear window? That is super high, I am in socal as well and I sell them for 800 dollars complete with frame and in great condition, off of 2005 s2ks....
