Default BURNING OIL HELP

Hey guys. My friend have a ap1 00 model with 160k miles on it. He purchased it from a person and compression check it and it is 215 225 220 215. The guy haven't change his motor oil for half a year but it said next oil change is next 3000 miles on the sticker. When he drove it about a week babying it. The oil light came on and he check the dip stick and it had no oil on it. Does anyone know why it did that? Is it cause the pistons?

s2000's, especially ap1's, are known to burn oil. i check mine every 2 weeks and top it off as necessary.
did he check the oil level before he bought it/started driving it?

without knowing where the oil level started it is impossible to tell how much it is burning. Chances are the previous owner never checked the oil level and only expected it to last between change intervals. If you're friend didn't damage the engine by driving it with such low oil levels he should consider himself lucky as many people have lost their engines under the exact same circumstances. Check the oil level every 1-2 weeks to be safe.
