Default buying a code reader...

I am a DIYer and want to buy a good code reader. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I want in a decoder? I want quality, user (idiot) friendly, and a price that's affordable. In my town is Autozone, Checker, NAPA, and some other independant part stores.
Then, where do I find the CEL code definitions once I have the new reader, and have hooked it to wherever I'm supposed to?

Here's a good, basic code reader http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPages/NOLM...+%2f+Diagnostic It's on sale this month for $149 ($184 on the site is the normal price), but you may have to go in the store for that sale price. It's the same price on northerntool.com.

For code explanations, try http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/index.php

Hope that helps.

if you wanna spend an arm and a leg, i know SnapOn made one called the Solus. I've played around with it, aside from diagnosing it tells you additional info along with several tests you perform with it plugged in to further determine the problem AND solution
