Default Buzzing noise--please help

last weekend we got alot of rain and i think i took some in with my aem cai---my car bogged down for about two seconds then came right back--my check engine light blinked for about a second and went off---i eased the car back home and it seemed to be running fine---i waited a day and went back outside to check the car but before i started it i checked the bottom pipe on the intake and it had about two cups of water in it---so i pulled the intake off and started the car--let it run for about 20 minutes and no problems--i junked the aem cold air and installed the comptech intake but when i started the car today i noticed my motor has a buzzing sound--it only happens from 4-5 thousand rpms and i thought it might be something loose but it almost sounds like its coming from the valve covers--any ideas? please help---thanks alot

i would think that its some heat shield for the exhaust but you know what this car isnt a luxury car so you have to expect a feww rattles here and there.

Rattles at a specific RPM are usually caused by what is known as harmonic resonance. You have recently installed a new intake so this is the area to examine. Things may appear tight but at a specific frequency produce a rattle. The easiest way to determine what is "rattling" is through harmonic damping. Try tying a sock or adding a weight to each element of the new intake system.....one at a time. Remember you are trying to change the way the element vibrates. You should be able to determine which element of the system has a frequency resonance at the noted RPM. Then make a change. It may be as simple as rotating a connection clamp.

are you hearing this buzzing while you are in the car or while you are outside looking into the engine bay?

also you did not get enough water to do any damage. if you had, the engine would have hydrolocked already.
