When you aren't running a cat to begin with the system is useless.. Its just for startup to warmup the cat quicker. So you are saving a leaf of grass in your front yard. Replace the part that cost twice the amount to get the fix, or just to remove the system? These cars have pretty ecofriendly engines to begin with lol, its a freaking honda not a muscle that runs off puppy tears..

I am not sure what I have done to offend you Jetboater. I can assure you though; we would be besties if you knew me in RL. I'm sure this falls under the category of 'not worth responding too', however since I just spent all day stripping my wheels to prep them for new paint - I am feeling a bit frisky and offended.

And that "clean engine bay" that everyone so admires contributes to the pollution we and our children must breathe.....
As far as the 'pollution' is concerned I am unsure of how something that's connected to the intake system can effect pollution in any large way, shape, or form. I long to be educated on this process.

That air pump is on the car for a reason.......unless you're tracking the car 100% of the time, it should be left in place.
Using that logic the only s2000 drivers that are 'permitted' to mod their car for any performance or appearance reasons must be tracking the car. Ok. Thank you. I was unaware of this restriction.

Unless, of course, impressing your friends with a clean and open engine bay is so important to you....
I care not what you or others think of my engine bay. I care what "I" think of my engine bay.

Oops, forgot about the nanoseconds of faster acceleration you now have with the 2-3 lb weight reduction.....sorry
Again, I would like to point out that this IS a hobby, regardless of what side of the fence you stand on. The reason for posting and the continuation posts was for others who may have come across this same issue. I was under the impression that was one of the main purposes of the forums.

One final note, that hopefully validates this thread on some level. Brandon eluded to it in his post and I would like to expound upon it.

The part that I was referencing (36163-P13-003) costs between $120 - $171 dollars new. The air pump delete kit costs $65.

Matt-- sorry-- I was overboard in my comments.

This probably doesn't apply to you but, having been a long time S2k owner, as values drop on the used car market, it's frustrating to watch one of the best sports cars ever built just as it came from the factory become the "new civic" and riced out with picnic tables for rear wings and other such stuff.
Boxsters and Z4s of similar years are now essentially the same prices as a used S2000 but I have yet to see either with a carbon fiber hood......seems to focus is doing this to the S2k because it's a Honda and folks are "moving up" from Civics......
Sorry-- didn't
mean to offend you-- just had a bad day too!
