Default bypass convertible top switch

HEEEELP!! Has anyone done the convertible bypass switch on an AP1('00). I was told to take out the passenger dashboard lower cover and cut a white wire with a black stripe but there are two white wires w/ black stripes, one is on a bigger plug and a second one on a smaller plug. I tried cutting both but I still need to pull the emergency brake, Please if you've done this before let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks,
Willie

I believe you'll still need to have the e-brake on, but just one click will be fine. Cutting the wire simply takes out the speed part of it, the handbrake will still need to be on.

The week before last when we met at fudruckers there was a guy that did this bypass to the Droptopgirl's car in front of me, and I asked one of the guys who was there and he told me that all it takes is cutting the white wire with the black stripe so I when home thinking that it was a simple fix, at least that's how he sound it. I also remember that she got inside her car and was able to roll the car and bring the top up without the parking brake. I tried to catch the guy the following week but he did not show up. Now??????

Well, did you try my suggestion of having the parking brake on one click?

Yes that works. Thanks Claw, but I'm looking not to engage it at all. My thinking is, that if I'm rolling (less than 10 miles an hour) in traffic and starts drizzling I want to be able to push the top up without coming to a full stop.

Pull the brake up one click, it will not activate the brakes. That's how the one wire cut works.

Any experience up to what speed you can still comfortably operate the roof?

i've never gone over 15mph. if you're going too fast, the top could be damaged.
