So when i bought the car a couple of months ago it didnt really bother me very much, but now its getting to me. when i turn the fan on, A/C auotmaticly comes on. i press the button... nothing. even when i have the heater on it stays on. any suggestions?

Is it just the light on or the actual a/c compressor is on?

 

it has to be A/C compressor also, when i turn the knob to blue it blows out cold air but it blows hot when it is in the heater postition. i dont get it!

 

On 2002-2009 s2ks, the AC will run automatically when the defroster is on. There is a simple mod to "fix" this

-with the key on, make sure all lights are off on the heat and ac system. turn both dials to the left.

-turn keyy off

-while holding down the AC button AND the recirc button, turn the ignition key on (dont start the engine) and just wait. one of the lights will blink a few times, then the other will come on solid. now you can let go of the buttons.

The AC will still come on with the defroster, but now you can hit the AC button and turn it off

 

This is a neat mod, but the defroster does work 10X better with the AC on depending on weather conditions. Its how you dehumidify the car also.

 

Oh I thought it was happening on all settings, not just defrost or I could have told you that last night lol

 

Depending on humidity. If it's dry it won't make much difference.
