I would think that a snorkel addition to your stock intake would be your best bet. No exposed filter to soak up water and you get the protection of teh divided OEM box.

Do a search for "spoon snorkel" and you'll see what I'm talking about.

There's no such thing. That's like saying something is 100% idiot proof...the moment you say any idiot can do it, someone goes and makes a bigger idiot.

I've been using an AEM on mine for over 2 years now (give or take), it's a daily driver, and hydrolock hasn't been an issue. If you respect large, large puddles, you have nothing to fear.

MacGyver, I felt that way also. I also had an AEM yet managed to hydrolock my engine, not from driving thru large puddles but from sitting in the driveway. Apparently water pools up beneath the filter until it's partially submerged. Just enogh to suck up a good sized gulp of water. In my case it caused #4 cylinder wall failure. I was one of those who believed there was no way short of driving thru a lake that hydrolock would happen to me. Beware AEM users it IS possible.

Porsche,

How could a puddle of water build up below the filter? The plastic piece below it is riddled with holes...

I dont think there is such thing.
There have been a couple of cases of hydrolock with even the standard honda airbox.
