Default CAI and exhaust effect compression

I'm getting a CAI and I already have the T1R exhaust.

I heard that these products can change the compression since air is probably fed to the engine faster than it was tuned for. Is this true? Can I further tune my engine to adjust for the increase of air in and exhuast out. I forgot the term for what its called when im running a CAI and exhaust without tuning.

Sobody answered this question really quickly once but alot of it
went over my head. I was in a rush to grok it all.

I think you are thinking about "air/fuel" mix. An intake and exhaust won't change the compression, but they can make for a leaner mixture. But since this engine runs a bit rich naturally, will these mods make it too lean? You won't know till you check it.

When you say rich, do you me fuel rich? are there pro and cons of running too lean. If your running lean does that mean you have a higher concentration of air compared to fuel?

Correct. The downside to running too lean is a popped motor. I'm positive you don't have anything to worry about with intake and exhaust. The stock ECU can compensate for small changes like that. If you've got a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket hit a dyno with a wideband O2 sensor.

ya...intake and exhaust, and even header, and test pipe, wont cause the engine to run lean enough for you to worry about...like said, the ECU will compensate...

Really the only way you can make it run TOO lean is either with FI, or by tuning it that way with a tuning system.
