CALLING ALL s2000 drive train specialists
Ok, so I’ve been over this a million times. I’m at the point of a whole sub frame rebuild.
Took my car to get an alignment. After driving it home and to work the next day the vibration began. Massive vibration on acceleration – current and not fixed
Car is lowered and axles are spaced.
The following have been replaced:
Driveshaft
Complete diff and housing
Complete axle assembly (x2)
The following have been inspected:
Differential mounts
Trans mounts
Motor mounts
Upper, lower, and tie bushings are solid.
So I jacked the car up (safely), put it in fifth and had my brother rev from 20 to 70 repeatedly. What I found what the axles are wobbling at the same frequency as the vibration. It looks as if the axle cv joints are not spinning as they should (spins like an out of balance driveshaft at the joints).
Problem found? Maybe but how the hell do I fix it. Multiple shops have told me to turn it into a horse and shoot it.
I really need someones help here. I've done all i can do and honda will not take on the project.

lol I was wondering who would be the first to tell me it was the axles
read the post dude! Everything about the axle assemblys are new, brand new and this didnt help at all. I guess what im asking for is some tips on testing drive train. if another person directs me to the cv swap thread I will come to your house and eat your dog! to everyone that races their S, have you ever had a weld fail on the sub frame? Everything I tap makes a ping instead of a thud... nothing looks bent... im open to pointers as long as you dont tell me to swap cv cups!

If you have autozone/advance/etc reman or even new axles they could still be the cause. We have to warranty about every 5th set of axles from those places for being bad out of the box.
if you have new axles you dont need the spacers
also make sure everything is tight, the axle nuts should be 212ft/lbs and the bolts that hold the axle to the diff should be 61ft/lbs
