The tower sets are line bored as a set, all 5 bores line up in a straight line. This is why you shouldn't mix and match them. It's also why you can use any straight cam in a given cam tower set.

Installed my new cams and my #3 cam cap cracked in two spots. Sucks, because now I gotta go find a whole new set...Thought of taking it to a precision machine shop to recreate, but that seems pretty futile.

Did you loosen all the valve adjustment screws before installing the new cams?

No, I used the service manual to remove. I didn't see that in any of the steps. Well...I am in a hiatus so I can go back and do that while I hunt down new cam tower/caps.
