Is what you're talking about like the Toda VTEC killer cams, i.e. there is only high RPM breathing. If so then check out Toda products they make them.

don't most race cars remove the VTEC anyway?

Take the REAL TIME Type R's (now RSX's) but since they are running above 5000 all race anyway....don't they just install a race cam and remove the vtec solenoid?

I mean, what would be the point of VTEC if you're trying to maximize high end anyway? Only reason why I would suspect this is at Mosport, when I saw them up close, they idled like crap, telling me they had a race cam

vtec killer cams are one the most aggressive cams you get for a DOHC vtec motor. very ideal for racing applications b/c the engine rarely at low rpm.

the idea i believe behind the vtec killer is as most people have said that for race use you really wouldn't be below 6000rpms any way and one of the only benifits i could see would be removing the vtec hardware and have less reciprocating mass on the valve train due to the signifigantly lighter cams. These cams probably have increased durability as well and hold up better under high rpm applications. But as i have stated many times before that is just my opinion and don't flame me if i am entirely wrong.
