Default Can a valve adjustment cause a CEL?

Quick question.

Can a loose valve adjustment cause CEL P0325 for the knock sensor?

Thanks

I highly doubt so. The knock sensor is there to pick up knock or pinging that comes from the bottom end to retard the timing, the tapping from unadjusted valves wouldn't have an affect on it.

Ok. It's weird, it only comes on every few days. I recently replaced the cylinder head. The CEL never came on before that. After I reset the ECU it runs normal. It's only twice over the last week.

Did they damage or break off the sensor? Is it clipped in all the way?

What about "hot spots" on the cylinder head? The head I put on had some dings on the quench area.

Here's a link to the post I started:

Thanks for the help.

I'm going to check the sensor in the morning. I hope it's just a bad sensor.

I'm going to get a valve adjustment done at the dealership on Monday. I did it my self, but I want to be sure.

My car still pops (misfires, but no CEL), but it feels stronger after replacing the head.

I'm going to see if the Cat is clogged also.

I thought my misfiring was from burnt valves. I had low compression and when I did a leak down test I could hear air leaking from two of my cylinders into the intake manifold.

I replaced the head (valves were white), but the popping/misfireing is still happening. It's not loud like a back fire, but softer. No smoke or anything like that.

I'm going to do another compression test tomorrow.

Could the popping be related to the CEL for the knock sensor?

You have a broken knock sensor most likely.

The slightest pressure will break it. Likely broken during the head job.

And no a botched VA will not cause code P0325.

Can a broken knock sensor cause the car to run rich?

I believe a CEL causes the car to burn more gas, so yes it runs rich.. but im not 100% on that.
