All kid talk aside.. and back to the original posters question, yes, it's possible to make an s2000 go the quarter in 10.99, but like everyone else has more or less made clear, it will cost you.

My car with a turbo kit, stock block, stock tires and wheels, stock drivetrain (transmission, differential, axles), did the quarter in 12.6 at 115 mph with a 2.1sec 60 foot time (lots of spinning). 115 mph is more indicative of a 12.1sec car. This is at 11 psi, and will cost you around $6000 plus goodies (probably another 2000).

If you want to take the next step, you'll need to build/replace the block and head (and everything associated with it - pistons, rods, sleeving and o-ringing, head bolts, main bolts, valves, retainers, injectors, a computer management system (EMS, Haltech), etc), and the rear end (cryo treat the ring and pinion of the differential, replace axles, replace wheels and tires, upgrade transmission and crankshaft, replace clutch and flywheel). This'll cost you another 15-20k.

Then you'll want to ditch all the additional weight: AC, stereo, foam and plastic, carpeting, replace seats, titanium bolts, etc. This will cost you another 1-2k.

Then you'll need safety features, a roll cage, flywheel scatter shield, helmet, parachute, etc. This'll cost you another 1-2k.

This is probably the best "F20C S2000" route to a 10 (or even 9?) second timeslip. Good luck though, because no one has taken this route. You want the absolute cheapest one to get you to a 10 second timeslip?

Turbo Kit: ~6k
Upgraded block: ~4k
Wheels: ~1k
Clutch, Gauges, Engine management: ~2k

I _think_ you could get away with that if you were willing to sacrifice a LOT in terms of reliability (you'll get less than 15 runs on a stock differential, and you'll need more than 15 to get the hang of launching). But you may just get a 10 second timeslip for an estimated ~13k and labor (1k? 2k?).

So there's your answer:

The Right Way: One S2000 + $30k

The CHEAP Way: One S2000 + $15k

 

PS: Buy a mustang.

 

I believe this can be done for under $300.

In fact, I ran tens in my S2000 just this morning. I was playing Gran Turismo 3. And that is precisely what I suggest you do. Now run along, build yourself a Stage 3 turbo, full drivetrain-modded, lightened S2000 and run some tens! (PS, don't forget the Super Soft slicks and full suspension)

I could get it to run 10 seconds, for not much money, but it would only have one trip down the strip. Top end 4 puck clutch, High end Diff., 8psi turbo, and alot of NOS. With slicks, 1 trip = 50,000 dollars. No thanks, this car is meant to be a ROADSTER, so GT driving, not dragging. Bottom line, to reach very fast 1/4 mile times, Displacement is huge, or non street legal mods. Drive the car on the twisties like it was supposed to be,

-buy a dragster
-take the skin off an s2000
-put skin on dragster
