Default can't get keyless entry remote to program

So my car did not come with remotes. I bought an aftermarket one off ebay from Keylessking, and a used OEM one part number A269ZUA101.
I can not get either of them to program. I follow the procedure and the car does not go into programming mode. A few things:
  • My car has the normal alarm, no factory installed extras
  • The LED inside the remotes come on for both remotes when I push buttons
  • Tried swapping remote batteries
  • Both remotes have "option" button instead of trunk button. But sellers claim they should work on my car. it would be cool if someone can confirm that part number A269ZUA101 works.
  • Tried holding the remote close to the dash
  • My door sensors were bad, but I cleaned them and now the dome light turns off when I close the door, so they work now
  • trunk open/close sensor is same deal. Light turns off when I close trunk, indicating it works
  • I have tried programming with both lock and unlock button
  • My car is not blowing fuses as far as I have noticed (Saw another thread about blowing fuses causing the issue)
I am at a loss! Please help! 21st century problems!!

Thanks! I'll wait for a few more replies and try the remote you used if I can't find an issue with the car. My gut feeling is that the car has an issue, not the remote.

Aftermarket ones are a hit or a miss. I bought 2 separate ones from different sellers and only one was able to get programmed.

Thanks guys! I bought the one recommended by gotembrao and it worked! The one he recommended actually had a trunk button instead of an option button.

I just hate to people scammed by the dealership when reprogramming and having a lock smith cut you a 2ed key is easy and simple; kind of why I made the video to help out others!
Glad it's working

Can’t get my second remote to work at all...hopefully I’m just being a bit dumb and I haven’t wasted money on the fob. I can make my original fob stop working and then reprogrammed that one...

Will have another go in the week.

Thank you @gotembro . Part number E4EG8DJ worked for my ‘03.

Most of the remotes advertised out there are A269ZUA101 and did not work with my car.

Here is another source for the E4EG8DJ since Amazon is frequently out of stock:
1 for $29.95: https://www.remotesremotes.com/produ...e4edj-4btn.htm
2 for $49.95: https://www.remotesremotes.com/produ...dj-4btn-x2.htm
