I never said there was a noise.

Broken retainers show no symptoms, not even noise.

With all the S2ks you work on this being the 11th may not sound so bad for Honda. Plus this could very well be an issue or User Error.

Bill this being the 11th, of all the VA you do what's the percentage?

Hard to say...but THIS year was bad. 6 or 7 cars out of 40-50.

^^^ So you replace all AP1 retainers with 2.2 retainers.
Whats the difference? Stronger? Benefits?

i was #10 and had them replaced last month. bill replaces all 8 of the intake retainers with ap2 ones. theyre stronger and thicker. then you get a nice valve adjustment, crazy test drive, and ur good to go home. the car feels like new afterwards.

I actually just did my 1st valve adjustment about 2 weeks ago, and my dad and I inspected everything. It was all still in good shape. I can't complain with almost 99k on the odo

now the clicks + a possible over-tightened axle nut (dealers fault), thats another issue

darnit.

when i talked to bill about my retainers, we had not determined whether there was a difference with ap2 retainers...so i ordered ap1 retainers.

oh well. i'll have them replaced one day soon for security.
