Default Car goes in Limp Mode - Code P2176 - What to check!

Fellow S2k'meisters - A few days ago I was on my way to work and while stopped in traffic - the VSA Light and Check Engine turned on and suddenly the engine started revving without me hitting the gas pedal. Although it was constantly revving (to about 3k rpm and back down), when I pressed the gas to continue the car went very slowly. I was a good distance from the house so I had the car towed home. I quickly did some research (this and other forums) and many said that the culprit was the
'Accelerator Pedal Sensor'. Others also said the issue may be the 'Throttle Actuator Sensor'. Well, I purchased an 'Accelerator Pedal Sensor' and installed (very simple to do)...upon finishing I unplugged/plugged battery and turned on and the car immediately had the same issue (constant revving, VSA and Engine Light on).

My buddy let me use his scanner and the code P2176 (Throttle Actuator Control System Idle Position Not Learned) appeared.

I did not want to keep guessing, so I took the car to the Honda dealer to have them take a look - I usually perform the maintenance and tasks on my car...but I rather let others work electical / more complicated issues.

They found the culprit - a piece of black electrical tape was stuck in the Throttle Body! I have a Cold Air Intake on the car...I don't know how that happened but oh well...I had to pay a little over $100 but it could've been worse.

I returned the Accelerator Pedal Sensor and all is good.

Just a quick reminder to always check the simple stuff first...
