Car problems pt.2
I went to the beach this weekend. Made it ALL the way to Myrtle Beach and my car decides to act up. It seems that when my car was starting from a stop it would roll fine until I went from 1st gear to 2nd, and from 2nd to 3rd. It seems after the car has been running for an hour or so that these symptoms happen. Now as far as the symptom is concerned... what happens is that upon entering a higher gear the car will just bog down completely. I at this point have to push clutch in and give it gas then it will start to go. The car ran fine after I changed the plugs but I noted that there was alot of oil on the plugs, so I will pull them today and check for that. At one point the I could not get the car to start moving but it did not stall. It just went down to idle. Unfortuntely since I just started working again I dont have the money to take the car to a shop to get it checked so I am trying to atleast assess the situation myself. Any help here would greatly be appreciated.
PS: This issue doesnt have the same type of symptom as my post last week which is why i made a new post.

I think the history of your problem helps others to diagnose your problem. While new spark plugs seem to have solved your problem, the root cause of oil fouling your plugs is still there. You need to provide more info after putting in new plugs. Specifically, we would like to know the condition on the new plugs and if CEL occurs again. Also, I know that oil level was full last time you checked, but if you have so much oil in the plugs to induce misfire as you described, are you not losing oil fast? Any blue smoke?
I don't think valve cover gasket failure will lead to so much oil on the plugs to induce misfire. You either have a plugged PCV, leaky piston rings, leaky valve seals, and/or blown head gasket. Misfire engine code is ususally not coming from bad spark plugs.

I didnt get a chance to pull the plugs yesterday but the car is running better now. I will still pull them today and will post a note about the condition of the plugs tomorrow. I wonder if the quick climate change and change in altitude on my "field trip" messed with the ECU. Hopefully it will be something I can fix but I dont think it will be. I will keep you guys posted. My K&N is oiled well too btw.
