Default Car will not start

Hello S2KI,
I just picked up a 2004 Honda S2000 and it started fine till today. In the morning I drove the car to school without any problems but when I tried to start the car to leave campus the car did not crank at all. I then proceeded to push start the car and it indeed started. Every time I push the "Engine Start" button the car doesn't crank at all. I could hear the fuel pump pumping fuel but no crank. I know for sure that it isn't the battery because tried: jumping the car, barrow a friends battery, but still no luck. Please help S2Ki.

if its not bad battery and when you push start button and hear clicking sound and no crank most likely it's bad starter.

Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention that when this happened, my father told me it was a bad starter since the car will not crank so I put in another one, which was a pain, but it still will not start.

common things are starter, start button or clutch interlock.
if it's not starter then check other two.

for clutch remove your floor mat for starters and try to start the car. if doesn't work you will need to check interlock switch. There is a schema somewhere on a board.
if you don't find anything in there check start button. Just dial it with tester.

Probably somebody has another things in mind but I'm out of ideas.

Thanks for the reply, how would I dial the start button with a tester? Is there a way for me to know if the button is bad?

Not sure how to dial the button because never had problems with it, but I would start from interlock switch. If you hear fuel pump, it means electric signal comes out, so I would start from interlock switch.

Here is a good thread with a pic of the pedal and switch:

Thanks for your help FREEK, well I looped the interlock switch and still nothing. Do you think it might be my start button because when I press it, I hear it pumping fuel but not cranking the motor. NEED HELP S2KI!
