Default Car won’t go into gear part 2. Trans removed - looks normal?

Making another thread for more attention as I’m stumped. My car won’t go into gear while running. Clutch won’t disengage. Replaced cmc, slave and bled until perfect. Adjusted pedal, etc. still no change.

Dropped trans today and everything looks normal???

see pics.. anything look odd?

How was the fork? Any signs of transmission damage inside? Anything stuck to the magnet? The magnet is below the fill port. You can stick your finger in there and feel around.

I think everything looks normal with the fork?

I haven’t felt around the trans at all, I’ll do that.

How do I check crank end float?

Crank float: push and pull on crank pulley, forward and backwards, measure play.

Proper method is setup dial gauge, then gently pry it forwards and backwards. Put you can just grab and feel for any play. Anything you can actually feel or hear is bad.

What you're measuring is thrust washer bearing wear. A washer shaped bearing that resides on rear of crank, and resists force exerted by pressure plate each time clutch depressed.

It was the pressure plate. I bought a new clutch disk with a new act PP and it’s shifting perfectly now.

The only thing I can gather is that these “ears” inside the PP were contacting the outer part of itself. The new one doesn’t look like that and has plenty of space around the ears.

A note, the old clutch disk in these pics below has been used for about 10k miles, most of them supercharged, 20+ track days. I’m impressed, I expected it to be in worse shape. It was barely any different than the brand new disk.

Never read of this being a problem ever... but, very good to know now and to inspect future PPs.

Looking at my old pics... the OEM PP def does have plenty of space around those "ears."

Just to follow up on this for anyone else in the future, I've put about 400 miles and a track day on this new clutch disk/Act PP setup and it's performing flawlessly.
