Car Wont Rev Over 3,000 RPM
Hi guys,
I havent driven MY04 for a while as it is currently unregistered as I imported it from Japan into the UK.
But when I start it up and rev the car in neutral, it wont go over 3,000rpm, like it got a limiter on it, this was done when the engine was warm (3/4 bars)
Anyone experienced this before?
What was the problem?
Could it be that the ECU needs to be reset, as this hasnt been done yet, also my LHD side window and Side Mirror do not work also.
I miss the sound of hitting the vtec
Help...

You must have a Check Engine Light or Malfunction Indicator Light on?
when you actually drive it, does the car rev over 3000rpm or does it only do this when the car is in neutral?
as for the mirror and window, you probably have a blown fuse somewhere

other than the cold rev limiter, to my knowledge the only other time a rev limit is put in place is when you have a CEL that causes a "limp mode"
does the little yellow light look like an engine? that's your CEL. i hope it's not flashing. if it's flashing, stop driving the car and get it towed to a dealership immediately.
if it's not flashing, go to autozone or something, tell them you have a CEL and you need to get the code. they'll pull it for free and then you can post it here

I will have to take it to the dealer to fix, hope they dont rob me blind.
Some one said to me that it could be that I may have been given the Valet key, which stops valet parkers reving the granny out of the engine.

I have never heard of the valet key not allowing the car to go over a certain rpm. ????
besides, you'd know the valet key because it's grey, not black like the normal key. also, you should not have a "yellow light" on there for no reason, as it's probably your CEL. whoever told you about the valet key thing sounds like they dont know wtf they're talking about, because that wouldn't cause a CEL.
also, as i said, take it to an auto zone or something and get the code pulled. most dealerships will charge you just to do that, while you can get it free at auto zone. but it's up to you. we can't help you without the code.
