Agreed. And don't slam the car becasue then gutters could do you in too.

But actually, the owner I know that has one of these installed uses it on his dailly driver here in Houston. He has not had any problems and it rains here bad. I mean it rains so hard you have to stop your car on the freeway becasue you can't see your hood. He has over 60k miles with it installed and Houston has been under water twice during that time. I am sure you all saw the photos with the big rigs floating on the freeway about a year ago.

Hi Sky chicken

I bought exact the same icebox some weeks ago and I'm very convinced about the outcome.

Yes, I could recognize an improvement in torque, sound and max. speed.

Here are some more pic's

The icebox will be built by SprintFilters in Italy, the name is SuperCompetition, the only problem is that you cannot buy the icebox direct from the italian supplier.

The icebox will be sold by Pit Shop Mohr , Peter Mohr is a serious person and he knows his products quite well.

The improvement cannot be displayed very good during a dyno run on a normal dyno stand, because the icebox needs the increased airflow of the wind during the car is speeding up.

Rain and wet streets are not a problem for this Intake, the finish is very good and the installation very easy (30 minutes).

The best way to check the improvement is the direct comparison of two S2K's (original one and one with the icebox) on an empty highway and I can confirm you, that this investigation will meet your satisfaction

When I changed my wheels from original to 18" I could recognized a lower acceleration and did not reached again 270 km/h, after the installation of the icebox these problems where history

MG Racing started selling these a couple of years ago and those that I know that have them have reported no problems. The 12HP claim seem optimistic, but owners with them all agree there is an improvement. As I recall the only reservations I have heard was a question of pulling air heated by the road (it is claimed that several feet are needed to find a cooler pool), but this is only a concern it areas with heavy solar gain. And the total filter area was also questioned by a few but it does not look out of line.

12 HP? It is hard to believe, but let say that it is true, I my opinion it is very difficult to feel a 10 HP difference if you are not racing pilot or know very very much you car.

In example it is said that the S2000 has a whp range between 190-200 whp. Do you think that you can notice if your car has 200 whp and your friend's S2000 190 whp or the opposite way?

BTW 270 km/h? Impossible!!!!

You'd think for $700, they could provide you with a nice anodized (or even better, CF) CAI pipe instead of requiring the continued use of the Danny Thomas accordian tube Honda throws in there.
12hp at speed I could believe but not from a dyno.
