xviper, its me! no bbb needed, I am just a phone call away and we are no new-b S-2000 service center, lets get the facts here so we can move forward.

Ajkewler, I am surprised we have never met, anyway, I'll take care of you, You have pm, and I'll get to the bottom of this. If you look up Honda World in this forum, we are not some average service center and have a great relationship with the S2000 community. I will help you and we will take care of you.

Also the customer service rep's name is Deb LeVasser just so you have another point of contact. I can personally pull the code for you Thursday if you have not done so already. If the issue went away for a month, then came back? As in it did not come on as you pulled out of the service drive, I wonder what it is. 42k seems early for a cat to go out, but we have seen it all. That is covered by Honda for 8yr/80k. Either way, I'll make sure you and everyone else who comes in is well taken care of. We back our work 100%.

I had no idea that this was your dealership. In any other circumstance, if a dealer did this and based on what the poster said, such a dealership would and should be roasted. I can "flush" almost anything you name on this car and it won't cost 600 bucks.
I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of this and settle this situation.

You got ripped off, plain and simple. 5k is a normal service interval for an oil change and in no way will plug up your engine.

Do yourself a favor.....go buy a cheap OBD2 code reader. Even if you can't fix it, a dealer can't BS you again if you know the code.

Got it. Service done at that price:
Major Service/ motor/trans/diff
Valve Adjustment
T-body cleaned/ fuel inj. service/ combustion chamber de-carb (I guess thats the flush we are discussing?)
free rental car

This was not just a valve flush. no need for a roast, just get the details before we get too excited. I am however giving him a discount for being a member/guest of this board. We have an additional discount for s2ki members and guests who mention this site.
Thanks for the support

Maybe that was all good stuff to do, but was the root cause of the problem determined? What was the code(s)? They should have been recorded before clearing them.

If the same code(s) come back what's next?

I'll get the exact specs on the code Fri (tomorrow) as I understand it was something related to the valves when I had service fill me in on the RO service.

My point was we did not just charge him 600 to clean his valves, he had quite a bit done to his car.

As you know, the techs follow the chain of solutions and fix the car according to what is stated by Factory Honda to resolve the issue. I will not, and can not know the issue until we pull the code again to see if it is the same one. These are cars, cars break, we fix them when they do, and we are good at it. As our track record shows. As of this time I have called and pm'ed the customer, but have not heard back. I take care of my customers, and I will do all I can to help.

Wouldn't a 2003 car still be under warranty, so anything related to that CEL should have been covered?
