I think original poster has some lessons to be learned:

1) Dealer service dept's are expensive. If you can't afford it, DIY or go independent.
2) It is always good to understand a problem as much as possible before taking to the repair shop. Knowledge is power. And you have a wealth of it here on s2ki.
3) If you decide you can't fix a problem on your own, always be specific on what you want done by the mechanics. No surprises.

Map reading before service 1.29 = tight valves and or carbon buildup

Got it. Service done at that price:
Major Service/ motor/trans/diff
Valve Adjustment
T-body cleaned/ fuel inj. service/ combustion chamber de-carb (I guess thats the flush we are discussing?)
free rental car

My point was we did not just charge him 600 to clean his valves, he had quite a bit done to his car.

not with 39,000 miles on it, again, details matter. Some things we can get coverd, some we can not
I'm now feeling like we have all been deceived somewhat. Non disclosure by the original poster is not cool.

thanks Viper, I'll do what I can anyway. I cut a refund check for the S2ki. % discount and offered to pull the new code for free and personally over see the repair. I don't know if he meant to mislead us, we (my tech and service advisor) should have given a better explanation of the services done, that is our fault. I can not blame him for wanting his S2000 fixed! If I were in his shoes I woiuld want the same.
Thanks

ajkewler,

So what are the codes now for the current CEL? You had misfires before on cylinders 1,2, and 4.

Sorry for the long delay guys, been so busy was xmas shopping. Well I took it to autozone and I got the codes. Its saying that there is a misfire in cylinders 1-3. The codes that came up were 301,302,303 and 304 from what the guy said. Also the CEL seemed to have went away for a day right when he checked it, but sadly it came back on last night.

Such misfire codes can be one of many things. To name a few:
-bad coilpacks
-bad injectors
-bad fuel pressure
-bad ECU (this was what fixed Rick Hesel's car year ago after months and months of fiddling around with all of the above)

Try flipping coilpacks, reset ECU and drive it some more.
