CEL on hard accel?
Maybe one of the coils are going bad. If you scan the car, the code should be under pending codes. It should tell you which cylinder was missfiring. Take the coil out of that cylinder and swap it with a coil from a diffrent cylinder. Then do some wot pulls and check the code again. If the missilfire switched to the cylinder you swapped the elegd bad coil in, then that is your problem.

but how would that affect it? if it doesnt misfire outside of vtec? i drive it perfectly fine all day long until i hit vtec... but ill try, i need to get my dif and trans fluid swapped today, and then im picking up a code reader today aswell...
Because it is harder for the coils to fire at 9000rpm as opposed to idle or 4000 rpm. Also, there is more pressure in the cylinders at higher rpm especially in a VTEC motor that switches to a higher lift cam lobe where there is more air and fuel in the way of the spark plug gap that the coil has to penetrate.

ok im going to swap them around and see if that fixes anything, i know i need a valve adjustment aswell. buying a CEL scanner tomorrow, between this and my teg i need one. If that doesnt work then ill buy new plugs (and seals that go inside the tubes) and replace them and see if it fixes it

Just noticed when i reset ECU after changing my oil, adding a new ram intake, diff fluid and trans fluid swap, that half of my fuses are one way, the other half are the other way... i dont think a fuse matters whether its in one way or the other right?

just wondered, figured the current flowing through them could maybe cause one side to have a different resistance, and then if they got swapped it would change it.
