Default CEL help....pulled code w/o reader

So I'm driving to work this morning, and halfway through the commute, my CEL comes on.

03 AP1, just purchased a few days ago, installed a new battery 2 days ago.

Pulled the code using the jumper method, blinked 9 times, then nothing, blinked 9 times again, then nothing, blinked 9 times again, then nothing.

I'm pretty sure it was just repeating the code, but the only thing I got out of it was 9-0. I looked through the ultimate CEL thread (which, while being very good, is far from the "ultimate" in my opinion) and couldn't come up with a match.

Car ran normally. I didn't try to go into vtec after the code came (that and because it was raining), but the car ran just fine. I'm sure it's some stupid OBD2 code, but if anyone has any tips before I try to get some generic code from autozone, let me know.

IIRC, they don't even read codes for free anymore either.

Okay, so the car pulled a P1456 code via a generic Actron scanner.

P1456 EVAP Emission Control System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank System)

according to the ultimate thread.

Any ideas? Maybe bad vac line or something?

I was wondering, last time I filled up the tank, I didn't get the "suction" sound.

checked the gas cap, wasn't perfectly tight. tightened til I heard 5 clicks and reset the ECU. Will be able to tell later if it worked.

Yep, that should do the trick. Most EVAP porblems should be initially diagnosed beginning with the gascap 'click' treatment.
