Default CEL light P1457

I just got this code and was wondering if anyone has dealt with this and whether or not it is a quick fix or something for a mechanic. Thanks, James.

P1456 is the general code for a loose gas cap.

P1457 relates to your EVAP cannister and the components connected to it. There is no quick fix. There are several tests that must be done to determine which component needs to be replaced. It's an emissions thing. Do you still have warranty?

I got the quick fix. There's even a TSB on it, but I've found another culprit. I'm tired, but I promise to come back tomorrow

Evap CVS solenoid windings have been known to short and cause a 1457. The do this more often in cars that see use in the salt belt.

The gas cap being loose will not cause a P1457, it will cause a P1456.

Aight.....under the car, drivers side, you'll see a black tin shield next to the rear of drive shaft. Slide under and look above it, you'll see a light brown two wire connector. Unplug it, spray some WD40 inside the connector, and unplug/plug it back and forth like 10 times. This connection is very prone to corrosion.

Now find the IAC valve on the side if the intake manifold. Put your eyes over it and look straight down about 4 inches. You'll see another two wire connector. Do the same thing with this one.

Clear the code by pulling the back-up fuse for 15 seconds and put some miles on it.

Lemme know how it goes
