On my brand new '05 I pulled this code. A valve had to be replaced on the canister side (under warranty of course). I made a thread on it somewheres, just search for the code.

I found that this sensor wasn't bolted down and was pushed part of the way out of the hole. I found a bolt that fit and tightened it down. No more CEL. Weird. Can someone explain that?

The cam sensors won't cause a P1457. They are part of a completely different system than evaportive emmisions.

Chances are you have your codes mixed up.

SOMETHING is mixed up. I agree it is impossible for that cam sensor to cause an evap code.

All I know is that that sensor was off and I have not gotten the CEL since I put it back on.

I would be willing to bet you a "Smarties" that you read the code wrong or it was read wrong by the scanner. A TDC code would have thrown a P1367. That's the Top Dead Center sensor you've shown in your pics.

That's quite possible. My friend was the one that read it and I actually didn't see the scanner. Either way, that sensor being out couldn't be a good thing and my CEL hasn't come back after tons of driving since. I think that it was the right code because it always took more than one trip to come on which is what the service manual says about the code.

So that same code came back on and I had it cleared and did what bill said to do. The TDC sensor had nothing to do with that code. I guess I need to put some miles on the car. Thanks guys.

I am hoping that "like you said" the WD 40 trick will work. Fingers crossed.
