Default CEL P1129

Car completely stock.
I'm hoping someone could help me before I go to the dealer and deal with their BS. This is my second "map sensor" code. A month or so ago it was a P1128, but that went away with a few miles of driving. This time, the car stalls out almost every stoplight, and I get the 3k RPM rev limiter almost everytime driving. (do our cars get that limiter everytime a CEL comes on?) I stopped the stalls by tightening my throttle cable a bit, so my idle is around 1,100-300. But the cel isn't going away like last time. Tried map whacking many times as of yet, hoping the car would magically fix itself, didn't. Checked oil, it's fine. The problem happened after I took off my airbox (but that's probably coincidence). I reset the ECU, but it still came back.
Anyone that has dealt with something similar, think its just a faulty map sensor?
Please anyone lead me in the right direction

sorry for the clutter of words, wanted to give as many details as possible

Forgot to mention, HUGE loss in power haha. Its a very weird feeling though. There is like a friction point with the gas pedal sort of like the clutch. Push it just enough (not too much not too little) the car flys like it normally should. A little more than that "friction point" and the car has a very noticable hesitation. I have to ease the pedal to go on without feeling the hesitation. I miss gunning the s2000...

P1129 - Map Higher Than Expected, according to this website. the autozone code pulling machine said "fuel air metering" sounds like map anyways.

thanks

Find another S2000 and swap map sensor and see if that fixes your problem. or just go ahead and order a new one. From my experience, there's really nothing else thats going to cause that code aside from a bad map.

Thanks for the help.

Anyone know if a map sensor would be covered by an extended warranty?

Well, I don't know if it would be covered by the extended warranty but there is a known TSB for the map sensor on this car. There's a revised map sensor that secures the connector in a better fashion. You can probably get this performed under the warranty.

You can find it here. Print this off and take it with you to the dealership, I bet they'll do it on the spot.

while i agree with the chance of getting a map for free, i do not believe that is the actual problem...
