CEL p1129, need help!
Ok guys i really need someones input on this, because it seems I've tried everything but one thing...heres the backstory
i have a 05 ap2 with 34k on the odo, so I left the house with two bars on the temp gauge took it easy until four bars and then took it to redline once, go to turn into the bank about 5 mins from my house and the car starts acting up
-put the car in neutral and coasting through the parking lot, the idle starts going crazy and reving by it self to exactly 3500 rpm, shut it off popped the hood and checked the throttle cable, its fine checked the oil, looks a darker tint of caramel but 3 diamonds, so iknew it wasnt that.
-start my car and it comes back automatically, reving over and over. so i try to make it home since i was relatively close, i had no CEL either.
-make it half way and can barely get up the bridge and the it wont let me gas past 3000, and finally i make it and coast onto my block when i go to put it in gear the car bogs out and shuts off triggering a CEL. now i just sit there, start her up and make it home.
-got home from work(got a ride) so i went to scan it and got the P1129 CEL,p1129 - manifold absolute pressure higher than expected, so im thinking ill try the MAP whack, taped it nice three or for times started the car and it started up very rough and idleing at 2000rpm runs ok for a bit although a loose sound and a hissing sound coming from the engine the entire time, and it starts reving to 3500 by it self no CEL came on the entire time it warmed up to three bars. shut it off and map whack it again and same thing happens. so now im thinking its the Idle air control valve. so i take it off and clean it reall good with brake cleaner pop it in and reset the battery like preciously and same the thing happens!
sorry about the novel but i want to give a full idea of the situation. anyone that knows anything please chime in, do i just need a new MAP??

Check for vacuum lines. I'd say start with something big like the brake master cylinder?
*Edit*
*Leaks, I mean. The whistling + high idle makes me suspect a big vacc leak. Follow all lines on the intake, make sure theres no tears in the hoses/hoses are plugged in.

A hissing sound may be normal if the car has an aftermarket intake. Do check and make sure you have all your vacuum lines connected though. From your description it sounds like a bad MAP sensor. Not sure how to test an AP2 motor as I have an AP1. Hopefully someone can check their '05 Helm Manual under the PGM-FI section and offer input.
On an AP1 you start the car and hold at 3K (in neutral) until the cooling fans come on. Then depending on what the MAP sensor reads you know its intermitent and will self correct (i.e. MAP whack) or bad. The magic number for an AP1 is greater then 36.9kPa sensor is bad, less then 36.9kPa MAP whack may resolve.
Anyone out there with an '05 Helm for a look-up?

Thanks guys for replying, car hasnt moved since friday sadly, i ordered a new MAP senson friday and paid effin $26 for overnight shipping from hondapartsdeals.com and still didnt get it. Im getting my money back on that shipping charge considering the location oftheir warehouse is a state away. Anyway ill check the hkses, but do feel its the sound of the intake
This is an old bump, but I was wondering if the OP ever figured out the problem, and or if anyone else has ideas. I've had the exact same set of circumstances pretty much (MY05, 38K miles). Erratic idle, car bogging down and shuddering as if it is going to stall out completely after giving it some gas, and it actually did stall out at a stoplight.
I've done MAP whack, new MAP sensor, changed spark plugs, checked vacuum lines, and most recently I cleaned my IAC valve with carb cleaner.
After cleaning the IAC valve and resetting the ECU, I turned it on and let it idle for about 10 minutes. Eventually the idle smoothed out completely and I thought it was fine, but then I went to drive it around the block, and I was having the same issues, and threw a p1129 code. I can't be TWO bad map sensors, so I have no idea what to check next.
