Usually you can continue to drive normally. But, there are exceptions to every rule. If the code is a P1259 for a VTEC failure, due to you having only 1 quart of oil in the motor You'd be pissed if someone said it was OK to drive. ( has happened before)
If it's not running like crap, running hot, and the oil is full, Drive normally untill you get the code to be certain.

BTW - The car is running great. Really, better than ever. None of the symptoms you just mentioned.
