There is a little thing that looks like a catch can that plugs up to it. When mine fell off and was dragging on the floor that can fell off. mine seems to work ok though. If you look at the pic carefully you can see the top of it is a cylinder looking top..thats it. If you lose that top then its that metal vacuum opening. Hope that helps. I figured mine out..I just taped the wires back up from being cut and checked all my fuses and replaced the blown one in the cabinet. Everything works now. Thank you everyone for you help much appreciated.

yea...it was right where the plug starts. the shielding was off but the wiring stayed intact. i just ET'd it. do you think that could be my problem?

Can you post a pic? I've had the same problem, found the blown #6 fuse, but don't know where the wires could be.
