CF or AL?
If the shock tower bar is for an S2000 than it is not worth to even get one. From what members have said in other topics the STB does nothing but add to the look.
With that being said, CF can be had in so many varieties of weaves/ply thicknesses/orientation patterns and different resins that in order to find out the strength of the bar in question more info is needed. Even without the info I can tell you CF's main strength is while it is in tension and a STB is used for compression purposes. So that right there would leave me to believe the AL bar would be better for overall strength while the CF one will be lighter. One thing to check is whether or not the CF bar is all CFRP or is just a wrap around the original AL one.

Couple of things
1. STB really doesn't do much beyond looks
2. Although you didn't mention the name of the STB, if it doesn't cost $500 it is just CF overlay on top of the Al, Steel, or etc. bar. So in terms of stiffness you aren't getting much difference.

To those that claim it makes no difference.. it may not be a handling improvement, it may not be something you care for.. but it DOES make a difference. Take the time to do some tests before you report.. or post your tests when you make the claims.
Hmm, now that you guys mentioned it. I wonder if that is why my car seems different to me lately. I took off my Red Comptech STB, because a fellow owner said he wanted it and wanted to trade me his for mine. But never put it back when he decided to keep his. Driving around NYC the car seems to bounce more, I checked tire pressure and everything was good. Now I am curious and will have to put the bar back to see if it feels better.
