Help!!!!!!!!!!!1

I followed the tutorial but I ran into a problem. The OEM filter has some clips on the side and it looks different than the replacement filter I bought. The replacement looks exactly like the one 2 posts before me.

The problem is, the filter doesnt stay in the hole, it just keeps falling through. How the hell can I get the filter to stay?!?!?

The last picture of Destiny2002 posted on Sept 03, 2003 (post# 19) showed the filter inside the carrier. There are two parts: filter and filter carrier.

You need to remove the old filter from the filter carrier then install new filter to the old carrier, then install the carrier with new filter back to the car.

if you spray some colonge or other spray type air freshener on it before you install it, the cabin will smell better than ever. I used to do this on my RSX -S, Accord V6 and on the ex-wife's cars. of course, the filters were in the glovebox, not in the engine bay.

Just did this today and must say the use of the 5mm socket was very helpful. I changed mine with 13k on the clock and boy was it dirty.
I can't understand why as it's always garaged and kept spotless. I might think changing at every 10k may be way to go.
Only hard part was making sure the filter carrier was clipped in the rear before seating the front clip.
Thanks everyone for the info.

I took mine out and cleaned it. Put it back in.

Ordered another one when I ordered some other parts... but I've been driving top down only, so there's kind of no point in a cabin filter right now....

Great write-up! Just did this and found a lady bug in the filter (43.5K miles). Did the cologne spray as well (thanks for the tip). Takes all of 10 minutes and will definitely be doing this at regular intervals now

Tip while doing this if your a/c has any kind of smell.

Get a can of Lysol Disinfectant Spray spray and turn the car on with a/c on highest using outside air. With filter removed, spray the can liberally in the duct. It will kill the bacteria stuck in the whole system.
