Changing Diff Fluid
Hey Guys,
Changing the diff fluid. I looked at the DIY thread, but it only has part numbers and not sizes for the replacement gaskets (washers?) for the fill and drain bolts. I'd like to just go to home depot to get them rather than order online and wait and pay shipping. What sizes are these things? Part numbers are Replacement washers 90402-PCZ-003, 90401-PCZ-003
Thanks guys!!!

i have a whole ton of washers, can't remember if i got them from hard top guy or handa, but when i did oil changes, or differential fluid changes i always forgot i had a stash and just used the old washers.
the washers are the same size i think. i had been using the copper one on the drain, when finally the other day i looked to see where each part number went in the diagram and it turns out the copper one is for the fill bolt. both fit on both.
Maybe they changed for MY06 but I ran into this problem today. Changed the diff and put the fill washer on the drain bolt by mistake. I only noticed cause the drain washer will NOT fit over the fill bolt. Went to get some washers and the dealer told me they are back ordered until March...
Problem is the fill washer is now crushed against the drain bolt. Can not get it off without messing up the bolt. So I've got to watch for leaks and wait until March to get a new drain bolt and washer.

18mm I believe for the washers for both bolts. Bolt threads are the same size, just the bolt heads are different, at 23mm and 24mm. I just changed mine, and used aluminum for both that I found. My Honda dealer was out, so I just matched the correct size at a local auto store. In case you're looking for a 23mm open ended wrench for the fill bolt, I just found one at Kmart, Craftsman brand.
I guess I was too comfortable doing the job and didn't pay enough attention. It makes more sense they would be the same. This is the second time I've changed the diff. No problems the first. Oh well, this won't happen again!
