Default MTF and DIFF fluid

i just changed my oil yesterday and i want to do the diff and trans now. now i have been reading up on which MTF i sould use and i think i am gonna go with honda oem MTF and the oem diff to. but my question is the diff fluid hard to change? what are the steps in doing so? aslo i can just drive up to my local honda dealer and buy the fluids right? and when do you guys think i should change the trans and diff fluid every 5-8k or what? keep in mind that this car is my daily driver and i put about 500-1k on it a month. well thanks in advance for the feed back. and i will let you know how the fluid is treating me after the change.

If you have a fluid pump it is very easy. If you don't it is a pain.

Don't buy OEM diff fluid, read the How-To and you will see what to buy.

you don't need to change the diff fluid ever 5K unless you are driving the car like you stole it all the time. Like ^^^ said, don't use the OEM diff fluid, get something else. Don't forget to get new washers though from Honda for all the tranny and diff bolts. And just as a confidence booster, if you can change the oil, there's no way you can screw either of these up. just get a pump, drain old fluid, pump in new fluid til it starts to come out of the hole and put the bolt back on.

Big Tip- take the fill bolts off first. If you drain the tranny/diff and then strip the fill bolt, guess what...

OEM MTF or Amsoil MTF. For the diff Mobil1 is a good choice or Amsoil severe gear 75/90.

ok but i see for the diff 75/90 or 75w110 what is the difference in the two and what does the car require because i dont like to change anything like say the oil the dealer says 10w30 and thats what the all come with well then 10w30 it is. so what is the difference and i know that i dont have to change the diff every 5k but i bought the car with 57k and i dont know if it has ever been changed same with the trans fluid. so i wanna do them all rite now that way i can keep track of when to do what.

You got a lot of options when it comes to Diff Fluid!!

Last week i got a quart from Advance Auto Parts of Mobil 75w90 Diff Fluid, its not expensive and you will be able to find it anywere, you also have Royal Purple 75w90 Diff Fluid as another Option.

For the MTF i Got OEM HONDA, but you also Have Royal Purple Syncromesh and a couple of others and that should to the Work, Also Get 2 Pumps, One for the Diff Fluid and another One For the Tranny Fluid.

I believe we are suppose to use a 90wt gear oil. 75/90 will suffice. no need to use the 75/110. If you want the heavy duty version use the Amsoil 75/90 severe gear oil and you will be fine.
