Changing out brake fluid
Hey guys, well my brake fluid is pretty old and Iv had some ATE fluid waiting to be put in for some time.
Im thinking about changing it out and putting it in tonight, how big of a deal is it and how log does it take? My car is my DD and im somewhat novice to this sort of thing and have never done it before in my life.
I did change my clutch master and bleed it and stuff but I had a little help but fully understand the concept. And all I have is 1 other person for giving me a hand (possibly pumping the brakes)
Is there anything I should look out for like getting it on the paint of course and things like that?? TIA guys
Edit: wow i just saw billmans (sn may be a little different) guide to bleeding and that seems very simple! only question I have is, is that It seems in opposite order! is that right? Normally I have always read that you start from the furthest out. This one seems like you start from the closest and move out. TIA guys again!

This may not apply to S2000s, but I don't see how it would not since the systems are very similar. I replaced all of the calipers on my Miata and tried to use the gravity bleed method without success. Since the system was wide open I think that gravity bleeding did not remove the large air bubbles trapped in the system. I had to purge the bubbles with a standard (2-person) bleed.
Just FYI.
Just FYI.
while I was doing it I noticed many MANY bubbles coming thru the tube on each caliper (straight bubbles for like 2-3 min straight).
Could this be the result in boiling fluid or what? Iv never changed the brake fluid prior to this.

I made a bleed guide based off of Billman's guide. If you need more reference it might be helpful. It's a little more explicit.

Sweet saw your guide. I have a question tho. after bleeding the front 2 brakes I went to the rear and realized the emergency brake was on. I took off the brake and continued as normal with the rears. The cap was off during all of this.
Is that really a big deal? I figured possibly since I took it off after finishing the fronts it may be okay. Anyway let me know
