Cheapest price on a CAI I've ever seen
$59.95 - looks almost like it has the same routing as the AEM.

I decided to see their quality by buying their CAI for my bro's prelude for x-mas. To my amazement the piping fit perfectly and when placed side by side with our friends car (another prelude) you couldn't tell the difference between my brother's and my friends AEM.
After the install we took the prelude out. Sounds awsome and my bro says he definitely feels a power increase.
Has anyone tried this one out for the S2000?

take a look at the "s2000 talk" board and find the "$30 cai on ebay post." that intake is cheaper and looks like it to! would put a link but for the life of me i can't figure out how.
no way its the same as the aem. the aem has a special heat coating on both the inner and outter parts of the intake to cool air even more that looks like a solid peice of aluminum no coating nothing. also i can guarentee that the filter is not anywhere nears as good as the aem just by the fact the aem is a k&n.
That "coating" is negligible and the filter can be a simple $30 K&N. All you need is the piping and maybe a bypass valve and you're set if you want a CAI like the AEM/Injen.... Aside from that, you're just paying more for the branding.

Hmmm I think maybe I'll order it and give it a try, i mean what's $60 anyways. Besides if I don't like the filter I have an old K&N cone laying in my room from my old Rx-7, I'll just put that one on.
As for the paint coating, I've heard that it's all hyped up but plays little to no real role in an CAI. That's why there's people on this site who are still taking their AEM's and wrapping them in Radmat.
(Again we're back to the usual catch 22 w/ our cars, does the slight power increase offset the additional weight of the radmat?)
Someone on this site had a response that said the real purpose of a CAI had only part to do with getting cooler air. He said it really had to do w/ engine harmonics and building pressure waves (hence the need for longer and smoother tubing). These pressure waves would build up and when the intake opens, it would force more air than usual into the combustion chamber. I don't know how true it is, but it seemed kind of interesting.
