Asked AutoZone if they can erased/cleared the code for you. I didn't tight my wife car gas cap properly so I got the check "engine light" on her Honda CR-V . After I tighting the cap, take off the negative battery terminal to reset the ECU, drove the car for a week and the cell light pop back up the next day and woulnd't go away.
I went to AutoZone today and pull a code (P1541 I think) something to do with emision controll. I asked him to cleared the code and he was able to cleared the code for me. The light is gone ...for now. Will see if it will come back in a few days.

They can clear the code, but that doesn't fix the problem. Try PMing xviper, he may be able to diagnose the problem.

I was told if there is no real problem they can clear the code. In my case I think I set off the light because the gas cap was not tight which I DID confirm it was when I check the gas cap and it was very loose. He cleared the code by pressing some button on the OB code scanner while it was hook to my wife car onboard computer port. I am sure if there is some other problem beside the loose gas cap then I will see that damm light again in a few days.
