My 02 S w/ only 15K on it has the check engine light on. The diagnostic code is P1456. MFG. Controlled Aux. Emissions. The light has come on recently. I need to get emission test done for state inspection. The mechanic shut off the code, but need to know what is going on. Does anyone know? I don't want to damage my car. The dealers are usually useless. Thanks for all your help.

 

P1456 is 99% a loose gas cap. The threads are binding before the gas cap seals against the filler neck.

 

Thanks. The dealer told me it was a gas evaporation code. Of coarse he first told me it was an O2 sensor. Dealers suck! Hope it is just the gas cap. Need to get the emission test done before Mon.
