Default check engine light came on

my check engine light came on today while i was driving to work. car sounds fine the only thing that i saw was raditator fluid in the engine bay well just a little bit... near driver side only. Temp gauge on dash reads normal meaning 3bars....should i got to auto zone and rent me a scan tool and see what i get for an error code or just take it to someone... just moved to so-cal so it would be nice to know some good mechanics here if there is a real problem with my car

Go to autozone and pull the code and post it here.

Autozone will just pull the code for you, no need to rent a tool, but def get the code.

Whatever you do, do NOT reset the ECU. Leave the light on, get the code.

If it starts flashing, do not drive the car.

Agreed with above if you hadn;t just filled the car up resently. If you did, check the fuel cap.
